Description:
Cooper McCullough Group were engaged by the Central Highlands Regional Council to undertake full road reconstruction on an urban section of works in Blackwater Township. Wattle street lay resident to over 100 houses directly affected by these works, along with several hundred other residents indirectly affected. As such CMG undertook significant stakeholder engagement prior to and throughout the project, as well as focussing on planning of works to minimise impact to each resident where possible. Full scope of works included 550mm road box out, removal of unsuitable, remove and replacement further in locations of poor subgrade (Type B), TX160 geogrid and geofabric placement, subsoil drainage installation, select fill placement, 2x pavement layers, kerb and channel, driveway cross-overs, two coat seal and asphalt. All works were completed to a high quality standard, ahead of program with very limited complaints from residents and road users. The CMG team worked through challenging ground conditions particularly throughout the wet season delivering this technically challenging project.
