Description:
This project involved removal of an unstable timber bridge and reconstruction of a new concrete bridge. Works were undertaken in a remote location south of Nebo, with very challenging ground conditions. Diversion drains and an interceptor trench were constructed as part of the temporary works along with a 6” and to 2” pumps running around the clock. A sed basin was constructed on site to enable settlement of water borne silt from pumping activities. Works were in a purple waterway zone and as such were completed with strict adherence to permit and environmental authority conditions. Works involved cast insitu base slabs, aprons, headwalls and aprons along with placement of 3000×3000 RCBC. Works were completed prior to contract PC dates, with nil safety incidents, no quality NCR’s and under project budget.
