Keilambete Road pave and Seal

Description:

The Keilambete Pave and Seal project was another road upgrade undertaken by CMG in the western part of the Central Highlands Region. This project in the gemfields was undertaken on a dangerous section of road that has claimed the lives of local people over the past few decades due to the alignment and longitudinal grade. This project had major cut and fills (up to 3m), drainage upgrades, variable pavement box, two coat seal, linemarking and road furniture. CMG worked closely with project administrators GBA and CHRC to come up with some innovative solutions including drainage upgrades, alternative landscaping solutions due to lack of suitable topsoil, side track construction and alternative seal treatment enabling a prime and 2 coat seal to be undertaken in lieu of a primer seal. This enabled to project to be completed 4 months ahead of schedule.
