Grasstree Road Embankment Scour Remediation

Description:

This project involved the reconstruction of approximately 1km of the embankments along Grasstree Road. The embankment in this area had significant erosion present on both side of the road up to 5m deep and batters of 1:1.

The embankment was reconstructed, and gypsum and lime treated to provide further stability to the area. Substantial rock lined drains were installed to assist in reducing any future erosion along this section.

CMG (previously MCC)  worked with the client to ensure a successful project, coming up with innovated ways to combat the lack of quality topsoil available resulting in the use of an organic blanket and successful strike on the batters.
